Which Women's Lacrosse Head Is Best for You?
The head does most of the work in a women's lacrosse stick. It decides how well you catch, how the ball sits while you cradle, and how it leaves when you pass or shoot. Two things decide the right head: the position you play and the pocket you want strung in it.

Quick Picks by Position
Every head below comes strung with Type 5 mesh, Type 4 mesh or a Tech Trad pocket, or unstrung.

Mesh, Tech Trad or Unstrung?
Every StringKing women's field head comes in four versions. The head is the same. The pocket is what changes.
Type 5 mesh
Our newest women's mesh, at 16 grams. Its Dual Diamond knit guides the ball to the same spot for a smooth, consistent release, and it holds its shape in any weather.
Type 4 mesh
Softer, with an open channel that makes catching and cradling easier. It weighs 18 grams and plays the same in any weather.
Tech Trad
Our take on the traditional pocket, strung with runners and laces. Players who like a traditional pocket get its feel and hold, with weather-resistant materials that last all season.
Unstrung
Just the head, for players who string their own pocket or move an old one over.
New to the game? Start with mesh. It's easier to catch with and needs less upkeep than a traditional pocket.

What Makes Heads Different
Face shape
A narrow face holds the ball tighter, for control while you dodge and a quicker, more accurate release. A wide face makes catching and scooping ground balls easier, and gives a defender more area to block passes.
Weight
A lighter head is quicker to move and to shoot. Attackers tend to want a lighter head. Our women's heads run from 100 grams (Mark 2 Offense) to 115 grams (Legend).
Stiffness
A stiff head keeps its shape when you check, take a check or shoot hard, so your pocket throws the same way every time. Every StringKing women's head is built stiff.
Mark 2 or Legend
Mark 2 heads are built for one position each. The Legend works at every position, at a lower price, which makes it a good first head.

Is My Head Legal?
High school and college girls' rules only allow sticks that are on USA Lacrosse's list of legal sticks. Every StringKing women's head is on the list.
The pocket is checked too. Officials make sure the ball moves freely in every part of the head and pocket. Under the 2027 high school rules, the pocket must attach to the head through its stringing holes.
A pocket gets deeper as it breaks in. If it's too deep, tighten the bottom string.
