Which BBCOR Bat Is Best for You?
BBCOR bats are required in high school and college baseball. Every BBCOR bat has to meet the same limits, so choosing one comes down to three things: the right size, the swing weight you like, and how long you need the bat to last.

Every StringKing BBCOR bat is aluminum alloy with a 2 5/8 inch barrel.

What BBCOR Means
BBCOR stands for ball-bat coefficient of restitution. It measures how much the ball springs off the bat. A BBCOR bat is tested to make sure it performs no better than .50, close to a wood bat.
Barrel: 2 5/8 inches or less.
Drop: -3. The bat weighs no less than its length in inches minus 3, so a 33-inch bat weighs 30 ounces.
Stamp: "BBCOR Certified .50" printed on the barrel. A sticker doesn't count.
High school and college baseball require a BBCOR bat. So does Little League Senior League.

USA BBCOR: What's Changing
USA Baseball now manages the BBCOR standard. New bats will carry a "USA Baseball BBCOR Certified .50" stamp, and they're expected in stores starting July 2027. The performance limit doesn't change.
High school: today's BBCOR bats stay legal with no end date. Starting in 2028, high school players can also use USA Baseball bats with a -4, -5 or -6 drop.
College: today's BBCOR bats are legal through the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Starting January 1, 2029, college players need a bat with the USA BBCOR stamp.
Every StringKing BBCOR bat you buy today is legal for high school play now and after the change.

What Size Do I Need?
A common starting point: players 13 to 14 swing a 32-inch BBCOR, and players 15 and up swing a 33-inch. Bigger, stronger players often move up to 34.
Three quick checks:
• Put the knob at the center of your chest and hold the bat out along your arm. Your fingertips should reach the end of the barrel.
• Stand the bat next to your leg. The knob should reach your palm.
• Hold the bat straight out to your side for 30 seconds. If you can't, it's too heavy.

Swing Weight and Material
End-loaded or balanced
An end-loaded bat carries more weight toward the end of the barrel, for more power on contact. A more balanced bat is quicker through the zone. Our Metal 2 bats are slightly end-loaded, a little of both.
Alloy
Every StringKing bat is aluminum alloy. Alloy bats are ready to swing out of the wrapper, with no break-in. Composite bats need a few hundred hits to break in.
